Coal Headwear

Custom Editorial Project | Content Distribution

The Idea

With the goal of wanting to enlighten our audience with the rich history of their brand, Coal reached out to us to create and tell a unique story that would stand the test of time and not just be another headline that came through a someone’s news feed.

From how the brand was founded to its expansive growth over the years, who was involved and where they are now, Coal presented us with a unique challenge.

The Solution

To meet this challenge we chose to create custom editorial that was distraction free, encouraging readers to immerse themselves in the story for a better experience. We interviewed Coal’s founder, Brad Schueffele, and presented his history as a pro rider and his personal need to contribute something tangible back to snowboarding, the sport that gave him so much. Through this story telling and content promotion we were able to exceed Coal’s goals of getting the company history in front of passionate snowboarders all over the world.

projectDETOUR

Media Partnership | Content Distribution

The Idea

When the crew behind projectDETOUR approached us about a media partnership we were beyond excited to work with such an eclectic, unique group of individuals. The content they were producing was by far some of the best we’ve seen in recent years, but they had no channel to distribute this content. That’s where our team stepped in.

The Solution

Utilizing our various channels from Snowboardmag.com to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more, we were able to distribute the projectDETOUR content in an efficient manner to the very people we knew would want to consume it. Instead of putting the same content in every channel we strategically placed different pieces of it within each channel, all pointing back to the main event on snowboardmag.com. With our channels collectively reaching over 5 million unique people a month, we were able to deliver a massive number of impressions on this quality content.

Snowboard Mag makes me remember why I got into snowboarding. They feature what is lost in other snowboard media. It's the simple things we can relate to. I guess that's why they are so successful with what they do.

Whistler Editorial Vote Platform

Custom Editorial | Custom Contest Platform

The Idea

To commemorate 50 years as a resort, Whistler Blackcomb created a mini-documentary that spoke to the history of the mountain, its brand and athletes over the past 50 years.

The goal was to get as many views as possible and do it in a unique way that required the reader to interact with the brand rather than skim over it.

The Solution

Our engaged readers love to interact with SNOWBOARD editorial. For this reason we created a custom digital feature with the documentary embedded at the top, followed by photos and short bios of influential riders from Whistler’s past and present. We then invited readers to vote on which of their favorite Whistler Blackcomb snowboard legends have helped make the ski resort what it is today.

We launched the voting platform and promoted it through our social and newsletter channels over a two week period, effectively reaching thousands of readers who not only dove in to vote, but also watched the documentary, further enriching their view of Whistler Blackcomb.
